Wavionix Software,
one of the industry leaders in air navigation and airport
planning software, has agreed with Airports Council International
to offer, exclusively to its members worldwide, a new software
called ADAT (Airport Data Analysis Tool), which will be
launched at the ACI World Conference (September 12-15) in
Geneva, Switzerland.
ADAT is a CAD
based software, which can calculate and construct the ICAO
Annex 14 aerodrome obstacle limitation surfaces (OLS) in
a visual three-dimensional format, whilst enabling viewing
of any shaped/sized obstacles, terrain or buildings in the
immediate area.
The tool is
of prime importance to any airport operator or authority,
which is considering development, alterations or implementing
new infrastructure. ADAT enables the user to immediately
determine the OLS within 10 nm of the aerodrome for any
given position using ICAO or non-standard parameters, for
a precision, non-precision or visual approach for any runway
classification.
One of the
major benefits of using the software, apart from improved
safety awareness and efficiency, is the substantial time-savings
and subsequent cost savings the software provides the user.
ACI members can sign up for this service for an initial
period of two years to include the software complete with
the CAD software platform, user manual, back-up service
and the opportunity to attend ADAT workshops/user group
meetings alongside ACI events worldwide.
WAVIONIX LAUNCH
NEW ADAT SOFTWARE SERVICE
Wavionix has
developed ADAT from an original program, called the Wavionix
Airport Surfaces Planner, it launched two years ago as part
of its award winning Wavionix Procedures Designer product.
Since that time the software has been tested and used successfully
by aviation authorities all around the world.
The company
recognised that the software could be further developed
specifically for airport operators. Via Wavionix's relationship
with ACI as a World Business Partner, it reached an agreement
to offer not only the software, but also a full service
providing assistance, advice and an opportunity to pool
expertise for any airport operator which is undergoing,
or considering new development and changes to its infrastructure.
Says, ACI's
Director General, Jonathan Howe; "The ADAT Service is the
result of an arrangement with Wavionix Software to provide
exclusively to ACI members an extremely useful airport planning
tool".
"This agreement
marks an important step for Wavionix, not only in terms of
providing an exclusive arrangement to a specific group, but
also by pricing the software at the lower end of the market
so that even a small airport will find this service affordable.
We sincerely hope that the take up is encouraging so that
we can further develop the service", commented Patrick Aisher,
Managing Director, Wavionix Software Ltd.
Wavionix Software
was established in 1994 when it launched the first version
of its award winning Wavionix Procedures Designer software,
which is now used by over 25 aviation authorities in 46
locations worldwide.
