In June
of last year, during the Institute of Navigation's annual
meeting, the prestigious Hays Award was presented to Robert
Loh, President of ISI and Vice President of WISI.
This award is given in recognition of outstanding contribution
and professional accomplishment to the advancement of navigation.
Robert Loh is credited as the protagonist and architect of
the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) and the Local Area
Augmentation System (LAAS) and his continued involvement in
these projects has made them an operational reality. Above
all, the award recognises the essential leadership he has
dedicated to these projects in fulfilling a technological
breakthrough that promises to dramatically transform the field
of navigation.
