LAUNCHING NEW SOFTWARE & NEW CONSULTANCY SERVICE
Wavionix Software is now widely regarded as the market leader
in the development of software solutions for the air navigation
industry. It focuses on three specific areas of aviation:
instrument approach & departure procedures, aeronautical
information service (AIS) and airspace design.
New this year, Wavionix will be showing customers what new
programs are being programmed for the beta version of the
new Wavionix Procedures Designer 7.0 due for worldwide release
late Spring 2001. This award winning software tool now comprises
over 70 individual programmes for the construction and verification
of all aspects of procedures design to ICAO PANS-OPS Doc.
8168 criteria.
The Wavionix
Procedures Designer, since its launch five years ago, has
now been sold in 65 locations worldwide. New customers
include the Civil Aviation Authorities of Ghana and Egypt;
National Air Traffic Services, UK; the Ukrainian State Air
Traffic Service. This year, the Belgian CAA, Belgocontrol,
has selected Wavionix Software for the first time. In addition,
Navegaçao Aerea de Portugal, E.P., the air navigation division
of the Portuguese CAA, has further endorsed the product
with the acquisition of its second WPD licence.
Wavionix will also be launching, for the first time at ATC Maastricht,
a new range of consultancy services to enhance the application
of Wavionix Software products. These services encompass
three main areas: provision of instrument flight procedures,
investigation & analysis of increased runway capacity
and more efficient ATC operations, and pre-privatisation
audits of legal risk exposure & hazard management.
The company will also be demonstrating the latest version
of the Wavionix Airport Surfaces Planner (WASP).
This is a software tool for the calculation
and construction the ICAO Annex 14 Aerodrome Obstacle Protection
Surfaces in a visual three-dimensional format, while enabling
the viewing of any shaped/sized obstacles, terrain, or buildings
in the immediate area. The software is of prime importance
to any Airport Operator, or Authority, which is considering
alterations or implementation of new infrastructure.
It enables
the user to immediately determine the Obstacles Protection
Surfaces within 10nm of the aerodrome for any given position,
using ICAO (or non-standard) parameters, for a precision
or a non-precision approach for any classification of runway.
Visitors will be able to see the new GNSS version of PrecisionWare
2.0, the first complete suite of software tools for the design,
simulation and verification of GNSS & GPS procedures.
The major benefit of using these tools for procedure analysts,
developers and aviation managers means that they can substantially
accelerate data handling and verification in all areas of
the procedure creation, development and the approval process.Wavionix
Software will be exhibiting at ATC Maastricht 2001 on Stand
646.
