Wavionix Software Ltd, the award winning industry leaders
in air navigation software tools, have launched two new courses
and released a new training schedule for 2001.
In response to demand from existing
users and colleagues in the industry, Wavionix has launched
a new three-week course entitled: "Introduction to PANS
OPS".
This has been created to enable
an in depth study of the ICAO doc 8168 PANS OPS chapters
for which the WAVIONIX tools have been developed. The additional
time also allows the students to develop instrument procedures
applying the PANS OPS philosophy. This course is suitable
for new personnel joining an established procedure design
team and managers wishing to improve their PANS OPS knowledge.
In addition, "Designing Procedures
in Environmentally Sensitive Areas" course is new for this
year. This course concentrates on defining acceptable solutions
to specific environmental issues. These include mountainous
terrain, dense industrial & residential areas, noise
sensitive areas, protected national parks, military training
zones, and glider areas.
Over five years ago, Wavionix
set out to create a completely new training course for procedure
design experts. The training modules are based on a 4-6
week ICAO Course for DOC 8168 PANS OPS, which has been modernised
from a manual paper and pen method to computer using the
Wavionix Procedures Designer. This concept enabled the
users to visualise theoretical situations as they learnt
on a visual training tool.
The Wavionix
Air Navigation Course (WANT) is now held over eight working
days, and the training system has been updated to reflect
ICAO changes and amendments for procedures design. To date,
over 100 PANS OPS experts from all over the world have been
trained on this system.
June 8-15 WANT Course / Spain
Sept 14-21 WANT Course / UK
Oct 26-27 Advanced Course / Spain
Oct 10-11 Designing Procedures for Environmentally
Sensitive Areas / Spain
Nov 5-24 Introduction to PANS-OPS / UK
In addition to the above schedule, Wavionix sends instructors
to train onsite.
Says Patrick Aisher, Chief Executive Officer, Wavionix
Software; "when we originally started providing training
courses, they focused only on instructing people how to
use our software tools. However, over the past couple of
years, as Air Navigation Authorities and Users have approached
us to develop new courses, Wavionix can now provide a full
range of training courses for the air navigation specialist".
