WAVIONIX WINS THREE NEW CONTRACTS :

THE ARGENTINE AIRFORCE

CAO OF IRAN

THE MITRE CORPORATION

Wavionix Software, the industry leaders in computerised procedures design, starts 1998 with three sales of Wavionix Procedures Designer 4.0 (WPD4) and Wavionix Airport Surfaces Planner (WASP) software to two new clients and one existing user bringing the total number of Wavionix users worldwide to over 35.

The Argentine Air Force has selected the WPD4 for their operational training department. This department based at Ezeiza Airport in Buenos Aires supplies various training services to the Argentine Air Force and the Argentine Civil Aviation Authority.

Says department head, José Miguel de Lucas; "We selected Wavionix software for its capability to design and check PANS-OPS Procedures in a three-dimensional visual environment.  This will enable us to improve our own PANS-OPS training courses   and introduce much needed automated ability to our students".

The Civil Aviation Organisation of the Islamic Republic of Iran has completed its order to purchase WPD4 and WASP software for use in its Planning and AIS Departments at Mehrebad International Airport in Teheran.

Says Mr R V Farahani of the CAA; "we were particularly attracted to the WPD4's inbuilt cartographical functions to produce ICAO SID's and STAR's as well as the instrument approach and departure procedures capability.

Finally, the United States' Federal Aviation Administration's, The Mitre Corporation of McLean, Virginia, which has been using Wavionix software tools for the past year at their Centre for Advanced Aviation Systems Design (CAASD), has purchased a second WPD4 licence.

CAASD is a Federal Funded Research and Development Centre (FFRDC) sponsored by the FAA as a non-profit system engineering organisation chartered in the public interest.  CAASD focuses primarily on Architecture and System Engineering; Airports Advanced Decision Support Systems; Global CNS/ATM; Collaborative Decision Making and Modelling Simulation and Advanced Development Tools.

Says Mitre's Principal Scientist, Dr. Russell Benel; "We have integrated Wavionix software into our working environment with great success, it was therefore a natural progression to become a multiple user".
